Ant-man (Eric O'Grady)
Brand:
LeYiLeBrick
Theme:
Marvel
Biography:
Eric O'Grady was the third character to assume the mantle of Ant-Man in Marvel Comics. Unlike his predecessors, Hank Pym and Scott Lang, O'Grady was depicted as an amoral and opportunistic S.H.I.E.L.D. agent.
He stumbled upon a prototype Ant-Man suit created by Hank Pym while stationed at S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters. Instead of reporting it, O'Grady stole the suit for his own personal gain, using it for voyeurism, petty theft, and generally irresponsible behavior.
Despite his questionable ethics, O'Grady occasionally used his powers to assist in heroic endeavors, often motivated by self-preservation or the potential for reward. He was briefly a member of the Initiative program and later joined the Thunderbolts.
His time as Ant-Man was marked by controversy, stemming from his misuse of the technology and his consistently selfish actions. He ultimately met his demise while attempting a heroic act, although his character arc often explored themes of redemption and the complexities of morality.
